New CactusBase Utility called CactusBase Importer released. This utility allows conversion of comma delimited files produced by many popular software titles such as Microsoft Access and Excel to be converted into the CactusBase Pro format. 

The English edition of the utility can be downloaded here.

Some CactusBase owners have experienced an error when trying to install the Upgrade made available on 21 September. The error  is 'Another version of the product is already installed. Installation of this version cannot continue. To configure or remove the existing version of
this product use Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel.'. This can occur if the CactusBase Pro Patch No.2 has already been installed on your system. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO UN-INSTALL ANYTHING. This has been corrected and a new install file produced.

A revised version of CactusBase Pro now available to existing CactusBase owners through the free upgrade available here.

CactusBase Pro downloadable update added to site. See here. The update corrects several minor problems and adds a new feature called StatsView to the software. StatsView  provides several tables of statistical information on the currently open Collection or Propagation database.

It is with very sad news to report the passing away of Lucio Mondolfo. It was Lucio who was instrumental in patiently working on and providing the incredible amount of data the comprises the Lexicon of Cacti Names software package. It is my wish to dedicate the Lexicon to the memory of Lucio and provide a complimentary copy of the software free of charge to all future CactusBase orders. My sincere condolences go out to Vittoria Mondolfo and her family.
